  1. Institutionalization of the In-Service Teacher Education

The IUCTE has already initiated a Research based Training Program specially designed for the In-Service Teacher and Teacher Educators. The project is aims to enhance learning outcome of Classes 6th, 7th and 8th in Science and Mathematics. The project covers 7 Districts of Varanasi and Mirzapur division (Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Sonbhadra). One school from each blocks of the 7 Districts and Adarsh Gram were selected for the study. Thus, about Thirty Six Thousand (36000) students from 100 schools were included.

The positive outcome of the training program is visible through the Social Media (Whatsapp group of the trainees). There is enough encouragement among the teachers, learners and the Community of the Districts. It has been planned to take up the study in 2018-19 in about 1000 schools covering Three Lakh Five Thousand (3,05,000) students. We are in agreement with this positive outcome and like to propose it as a model program at National Level after its completion.

  1. National Framework for Teacher Educators

The IUCTE, within its mandate and the delegated functions, is continuously thinking and studying the factors related to the program for Teachers, Teacher Educators and Educational Administrators that need Reforms in order to achieve the Learning Outcome at the Gross root Level.

The analysis of National Policy on Education, Reports of the Educational Commission it is evident that there is a big gap in the implementation of the recommendations in the Education of Teacher Educators that has percolated to bottom level and as a result, the status of our Teachers and Teacher Educators in taking forward the learning outcome, is highly unsatisfactory. The Research Advisory Committee of the IUCTE has taken this point very seriously and approved the proposal of the Centre to take up the Study on the Education system of Teacher Educator and formulation of National Framework for Teacher Educators. The IUCTE is committed to take up the above task seriously and have sincerely initiated working on the project.

The IUCTE has been allocated 3.05 acre land by the BHU in Sundar Bagiya, Naria, Varanasi, the development work has already been started.

On the recommendations of the various Committees of the IUCTE, the centre has initiated the process for the recruitment of the Academic and Non Academic positions. The IUCTE is Networking with the Educational Institutions and the Universities to create a better Academic relationship in the field of Teacher Education.
